Adapt to whatever the weather throws your way with the WESTERN^® WIDE-OUT^™ and WIDE-OUT^™ XL adjustable wing snow plows. Offered in two blade sizes, the WIDE-OUT XL model extends from 8′ 6″ to 11′ in straight blade mode, making it the widest WESTERN plow for truck and tractor applications. The plows are our tallest winged plows at 31″ and feature independently controlled, flared wings that retract at the push of a button to maneuver in smaller and tighter areas.

Features

• Plow Blade Construction - A 31″ tall, 14-gauge steel moldboard comes standard with a ½” high-carbon steel cutting edge on the moldboard and the wings, ensuring a clean scrape on every pass while reducing wear and extending the life of the blade.

• Structural Reinforcement - Six vertical ribs—eight on the WIDE-OUT XL model—a heavy-duty quadrant, and a dual WESTERN^® POWER BAR provide exceptional torsional strength and rigidity across the entire back of the plow blade to eliminate blade twisting. A high-strength steel base channel provides extra support along the bottom of the plow blade.

• Reliable Hydraulics - We manufacture our own hydraulic components to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability, so that you get a hydraulics system that’s not only fast and responsive, but that’s built to last season after season. Fully enclosed components are protected from the elements.

• Expandable to 11' - Available in two sizes, the WIDE-OUT blade expands from 8′ wide to 10′ wide and the WIDE-OUT XL plow extends from 8’6″ to a full 11′, to move more snow in fewer passes.

• Flared Wings for Efficiency - The WIDE-OUT plows, equipped with flared wings as tall as 36″ on the WIDE-OUT XL model, help move snow up to 30% faster. Providing unmatched versatility and efficiency, operators can control each wing independently to move into Retracted Straight, Expanded Straight, Windrow and Scoop positions, all at the touch of a button.

• Heavy-Duty Slide Box - The structurally-reinforced slide box is constructed with 3/16″ heavy-grade steel, ensuring your plows are up to the task, no matter how large.

• Trip Protection - Four heavy-duty coil springs protect your plow and truck by allowing the whole blade to trip when striking obstacles. Like the moldboard, the WIDE-OUT^™ plow’s wings will trip in any position—including scoop—letting you easily pass over obstacles to get the job done.

• Nighthawk™ Snow Plow Headlights - Available in both LED and Dual-Halogen models, NIGHTHAWK plow lights are engineered and tested for maximum light output, performance and durability to keep you ahead of the storm.

• UltraMount® 2 Snowplow Mounting System - The UltraMount^® 2 system is designed for fast and easy installation and removal using a simple mechanical system. It features a robust one-piece design and is 100% compatible with UltraMount^® system mounts and electrical platforms.

• Chain Lift System - The mechanical chain lift system offers a variety of performance and reliability advantages over a hydraulic system. Main benefits include cleaner scraping performance, higher stacking capabilities, reliability, and easy recovery in the event of a breakdown.

• Fleet Flex Electrical System - WESTERN hopper spreaders are designed with FLEET FLEX technology for easy interchangeability between electric hopper spreaders without having to change the wiring or the controls. It provides easy operation, increased reliability, simple wiring, and easy installation. Additionally, accessories automatically integrate into the control for easy plug-and-play.

• Plow Control Options - Choose between a CabCommand hand-held control with push buttons or a joystick control, based on operator preference. For efficient, precise and intuitive blade control while plowing, both controls feature power “on” and “float” LED lights, backlighting for night operation, and plug-in connector for easy removal.

• Security Guard Anti-Theft System - The exclusive WESTERN^® SECURITY GUARD^™ snowplow anti-theft system is a safe and secure way to electronically lock your snow plow when it is detached from your truck as a deterrent from theft. Unlike physical locks that can easily be cut or removed, the system allows you to electronically lock the snowplow’s hydraulic functions, rendering your plow inoperable to unauthorized users.

• Isolation Module - This advanced snow plow light and electrical system features improved electrical pins in the harness for trouble-free connections. An underhood module improves system life and complies with OEM requirements. No toggle switch needed to change from vehicle to plow lights.

• ULTRAFINISH™ Baked On Powder Coat - The ULTRAFINISH^™ baked on powder coat with epoxy primer is standard on all WESTERN^® plows, providing outstanding protection against wear and rust.

• Pre-Punched Blades for Accessories - The blade is pre-punched for easy installation of accessories, providing a custom fit. The pre-punched holes also prevent damage to the powder coat that can sometimes occur when installing an accessory.
