128555-4 – Lower Steering Arm Application & Usage
The 128555-4 Lower Steering Arm inserts into the steering box and provides the mounting point for the upper operator's hydraulic steering handle/levers. The upper operator's steering handle/lever attaches to the lower steering arm using the following hardware:
- Bolt – 705178
- Washer – 767954
- Nut – 086660
The 128555-4 Lower Steering Arm transfers the forward and reverse movement of the operator’s hydraulic control levers through the pivoting steering box.
This movement is then transferred to the hydraulic linkage connected to the steering box, allowing the operator’s control levers to control the machine’s drive functions.
The 128555-4 Lower Steering Arm also connects to the brake linkage. This connection converts the inward and outward movement of the operator’s control handles at the neutral/brake position into movement of the brake linkage.
When the operator moves the control handles outward into the neutral/lock position, the linkage engages the brake. When the control handles are moved inward into the drive position, the linkage disengages the brake.
