Installation Tips
- Remove the battery from the chainsaw before servicing the bar or chain.
- Note the direction of the existing chain before removing it.
- Clean sawdust, oil residue, and debris from the bar mounting area, drive sprocket, oil passage, and chain cover.
- Inspect the drive sprocket and chain for excessive wear before installing the new bar.
- Make sure the chain drive links are fully seated in the guide bar groove and correctly positioned around the drive sprocket.
- The cutting teeth along the top of the bar must point toward the tip of the bar.
- Adjust chain tension so the chain remains seated in the bar groove but can still move freely around the bar.
- Do not overtighten the chain. Excessive tension can cause premature wear to the bar, chain, sprocket, and saw.
- Check the bar and chain oil supply before operating the saw.
- After the first few cuts, remove the battery and recheck chain tension.
