Installation Tips

  • Park the mower on a flat surface, shut the engine off, remove the key, and disconnect the spark plug wires before service.
  • Allow the unit to cool before working near the engine, pulleys, or hydro drive components.
  • Take a photo of the existing belt routing before removal.
  • Inspect idler pulleys, tension springs, and pulley grooves while the belt is off.
  • Replace any seized, noisy, grooved, or loose pulleys before installing the new belt.
  • Make sure the belt is fully seated in all pulley grooves before starting the machine.
  • After installation, run the mower at low speed and confirm the belt tracks correctly before returning to service.
